TEMPLE LAW TRIAL TEAM SWEEPS REGIONALS

TRIAL TEAM SWEEPS REGIONALS -- 18TH TITLE IN A ROW

This past weekend, Temple's National Trial Team successfully defended its National Trial Competition Region III championship title at the Criminal Justice Center in Philadelphia. It was Temple's 18th consecutive regional championship--an unparalleled national achievement. The members of the championship teams are Marian Braccia (3L) and Justin Oshana (3L); and Tiffany Gainer (2L) and Brad Terebelo (2L). In gaining its 11th regional sweep, Temple teams defeated teams from Dickinson, Duquesne, Penn., Pitt., Rutgers-Newark, Villanova, Widener-Delaware, and Widener-Harrisburg. Justin Oshana was awarded the John J. Scott Memorial Plaque as "Best Advocate in the Final Round."

The Team travels to Texas on March 22 to compete for the National Trial Championship against the twenty-four winners and runners-up from the twelve other regional contests. Temple has won the NTC national championship three times in the last eleven years. The teams are coached by Professor Maureen McCartney, Director of Trial Advocacy Programs and Elizabeth Lippy, Esq. ('03) (Rubin, Glickman & Steinberg).

The tournament was sponsored by Temple's LL.M. in Trial Advocacy Alumni Association, directed by Professor Carrie Cinquanto, Director of LL.M. Program and administrated by Mary Beth Wilson.
