LAW AND FILM

A 2006 book Screening Justice - the Cinema of Law: Significant Films of Law, Order and Social Justice edited by Rennard Strickland, Teree E. Foster, Taunya Lovell Banks is an interesting view of administration of justice in film.

They discuss everything from the Three Stooges' Disorder in the Court where they mock the legal profession with slapstick to Witness for the Prosecution discussing trial as theater. They talk about Philadelphia as either a depiction of causes where jurors rise above prejudice or whether it is just Hollywood. Few Good Men questions the effectiveness of the angry lawyer. Interesting points of view with insights into the legal profession.
